Day 13: Well Brian Estes, today is your day for me to be thankful for. Brian is 4-1/2 years younger than me. I remember feeling somewhat put out when I heard my Mom was having another baby because I would no longer be the baby of the family. Brian had the sleds greased for him when he came along. Our Dad was very strict on Wade, LuAnn and me and it seemed like we sat back in utter shock when he would get by with things we certainly hadnt. He got to do things at an earlier age than we did, had more opportunities than we did I guess because us three older kids wore them plum, smoothe out! :) He had friends who were a lot of fun and they were constantly up to something. In fact, he is still usually up to something if he isnt talking. Ill never forget the day he and I were getting ready for school in the same bathroom. There were two sinks in the bathroom and I was brushing my hair and he came up and goosed me in the side and without thinking I turned around and whacked him with the brush. He went running to Dad and here came Dad to get onto me and before Dad could say anything I said please listen to my side of the story and I told him what had happened. That was the day the goosing stopped. Brian is a walking-talking encyclopedia most of the time. He can converse with anyone about most any subject. He reads a lot and learns things that surprise me at times. He was single for many years and when he married Susan, I do believe he met his match. They are a great couple who do things together, do things separately and are a great fit for each other. He has become a great salesman, son, husband, great brother (when he isnt catching me in yet another set-up prank), and a good citizen. I call him at times just to bounce things off him because he has a level head. Thanking God today for my prankster younger brother! Love you BK!
