Day #134! I am #Thankful and #Grateful for these last 24 hours where I continue to be blessed by the impact of the work my team and I do! Last night I had the honor of attending a Meet & Greet hosted by Mayor Eric Garcetti for African American Commissioner who voluntarily serve the beautiful City of Los Angeles. My good friend Councilmember Curren D. Price, Jr. was also in attendance, as the event was held at The Reef (a beautiful multi-story building) in the New 9th District! Thank you Mayor Eric Garcetti! Today, in my mail I received a Certificate of Appreciation from Councilmember Ali Sajjad Taj, for The Positive Results Corporation & our exhibit, The The Face of Violence and Survival! It states As a City Councilmember of Artesia, I would personally like to thank The Positive Results Corporation for their great work displayed in their exhibit, The Face of Violence and Survival. There are two more paragraphs, then it finishes with It is with great pleasure that I present this Certificate of Appreciation to the Positive Results Corporation Thank you Councilmember Taj!. Then to add Rainbow Sherbet on top to finish the day, I received a big brown envelope from Fluke Fluker, with 100 Letters. YES, I said ONE HUNDRED LETTERS FROM the STUDENTS at El Camino High School. I conducted three workshops last week, & these were letters THANKING ME for taking the time to come speak with them, keeping it real, blessing them, teaching them things they didnt know, for taking this serious subject & adding real life stories, making it fun & sometimes funny, always informative, very serious, right to the point, in a way they have NEVER, EVER had anyone present to them, and each one welcoming me back, inviting me back and pleading that I come back soon & often! Well, my heart and spirit is full, and I am greatly blessed! You gotta read the letters from these wonderful, awesome youth! I am blown away! I MUST give Thanks and Appreciation to each person that made The Face of Violence and Survival Possible! Thank you for blessing me and trusting me to tell YOUR Truth! To the Thriving Survivors I send you my respect, appreciation, love and thanks!!! Thank you Brent Burton for the introduction! You are always a blessing and support to the work we do and to the youth!
