Day 141 - fortnightly hospital review and bloods today. Josh has been diagnosed with chronic GVHD in his gut and liver. The last week on steroids has helped and he starts a different kind of steroid today which hell stay on for at least a few months. Fingers crossed this will help keep things under control. His weight has only gone up about 500gr in the 2 weeks but its up not down so thats a start. Joshies not impressed about adding more meds to his current cocktail!! Other things are looking ok and next week bloods will be taken to start the checks of all hormones to see what damage may have been done by the full body radiation. School has been great yet tricky all at the same time. His attendance has been pretty good and were proud of the effort hes making. Being a teenager I think is tough enough, yet Josh has his own social, emotional and physical challenges to deal with that make things pretty tough at times. Childhood cancer deeply scars our children on so many levels - yet they dont let it define them and Josh has an inner strength that Im constantly amazed by.
