Day 15 of thanks: sitting here seeing all the Christmas posts and made me start thinking about growing up.... I remember the only three days that were nearly as great as Christmas at my house were when the Aldens, Montgomery Wards, and Sears Wishbook Christmas catalogs came in.....I remember looking and looking at the tonka trucks, legos, guitars, and all the other toys and then after wearing the pages out Id mark the things I wanted most..... Theres something to be said about growing up in a time where we had our needs but we couldnt just waste money. A time when there was no internet and the mail was the only form of advertisement besides the TV and radio. I remember when youd listen to the radio and every little bit an amazing Christmas song would come on when now theres usually one station dedicated to Christmas alone and the rest dont celebrate. While Im for progress those days were so much more precious to me because of all those pleasant little surprises. It was like getting little presents all the way through the holiday season which also was known as Christmas then.....Thank you God for the memories
