Day 16 - ALL IN Fasting and Prayer Exodus 33:11 Inside the Tent of Meeting, the Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. Afterward Moses would return to the camp, but the young man who assisted him, Joshua son of Nun, would remain behind in the Tent of Meeting. This passage has always been extremely meaningful to me. It succinctly displays the multiple sides of Gods personality towards His people. In Moses, you have the guy who is used to perform the 10 plagues on Egypt, parts the Red Sea, receives the Law from God...and, oh yea, talks to God FACE TO FACE! Then, on the other hand, you have Joshua. He doesnt perform any miracles and the author even goes so far as to remind us that Joshua is still young. And yet, when Moses was done speaking with God, Joshua stayed in the tent. I dont know what he was doing. Perhaps he was trying to talk to God or maybe he was just tidying up, who knows. But Joshua made a decision to stay longer than anyone else. After the death of Moses, it was up to Joshua to lead Gods people and enter the Promised Land. This is the Joshua who takes out Jerichos walls without one siege engine. This is the Joshua who fights overwhelming numbers but still has the victory. This is the Joshua who discerns the sin of Achan in the camp. This is the Joshua who states, ...as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Many of us want to do great things for God. We want to be used by Him. But what are we doing daily that enables this to happen? - Todd Sictler
