Day 16 & 17: 36410-36789 ( 379kms Total: 6548 kms ). Today our plan was to start from Leh goto Nubra valley hitting the officially highest motorable road in the world, The Kardungla pass and settle at Panamik. We started off by 9:00 and went to fuel the bikes full tank + 4L of additional fuel as my Duky might be thirsty on climbing. We head on to the road to Kardungla and we reach south puloo so quickly as the roads were too good. Filled the forms at the checkpoint and we proceed further. Immediately after Puloo the roads shape turned out to be bad. With just 10kms to Kardungla the roads became the best possible to test you as a biker and we were happy. With 8 kms we got stranded due to a landslide and we was stuck for 30 minutes. The Border Roads Organization people were so determined that for them its not a hurricane task. They got the road cleared in minutes and its time to roll again. But before that I would like to thank the entire people working with BRO for there service provided at these altitudes. We hit the highest motorable road and I am happy for my team that we did that in style. Kudus to both of them. Patted them on there shoulders and we head to have coffee and Maggi and they both tasted great. We started our decent and our destination was Diskit. Just two kms after Kardungla yet another nasty landslide strucked. This time the stranded time was more than an hour coz the stone on the path was so big that after each attempts the machine was getting kaput. So after more than an hour we obstacles were cleared and we started moving. We reached Diskit by 15:15 as we had a package to deliver. On the 15th day of ride I have mentioned that I went to the village house of Mrs Sonam. Her husband was a Doctor on the hospital there and the package was fresh vegetables and curd. We meet him at his hospital and proceed towards Hunter to visit the sand dunes. We proceed further more to have tea from the military cafe at Hunter. Happily we meet a Malayali officer and had a chat and we had dosa and sambar. What else we would want. So yummy. After that we started our journey to Panamik. Last time we was stopped by at an checkpost and we stayed at a home stay which was so beautiful. So I was leading with that on mind. Unfortunately that checkpost doesnt exists now and I took them till Sasoma which we overshooted a couple of kilometers at 19:25 which felt scary. And I felt that I was wrong and we headed back to Panamik. At 20:30 we got a home stay and settled for the day. The host made us rice sabji and omelette. The food was not that good and we settled with what we got and went to sleep. Waked up by 5:45 due to bowl issue and it was nasty. When I came out I saw the other one running in. And we found the culprit as the omelette we had which was made out of mustard oil. Immediately the issue was sorted out by having the medicine and the necessary organs were sealed. :P . Started the return by 09:15 and we reached Khalsar so quickly and we had our breakfast from Kardung. Had three parathas and 6 teas which coated 190inr, and a tea cost 15Rs and I was astonished by its cost. We hit Kardungla by 12:45 had tea and started our decent and reached Leh by 14:30.Our luggages got unloaded had refreshment and we went to have food and then to Leh market. Had some shopping, dinner and back to the hotel. Both days we were good except Duky drank all the extra fuel carried. My partners hearts pumped with joy and felt like they have achieved something which they can cherish for a lifetime and happy that I was also a part of that journey. Special mention: Brave soldiers of Indian army and BRO. Thanks
