Day 16 Cant believe that its been that long already. Today started off with some good climbs along the coast with lots of fog that made it seem like it was raining!! Had to get on the rain jacket just for the mist. Now is where the morning got a little interesting...as I was going up a small hill I started to hear sirens behind me a minute later I noticed some vehicles blocking the road. After getting to where the commotion was I saw a man laying in the ditch with two kneeling beside him. Hmmm I thought. Asking what happened they said he hit a deer. Well thats strange I didnt notice any damage to the car by him. I asked if he was driving just thinking that he was feeling faint or something ridiculous for killing a deer. They said he was on a motorcycle and it was in the ditch up the road. Oooh makes more sense now. Now a fire rescue truck pulled up and I went up to the lone volunteer FF if he wanted help and giving a brief description who I was he said yup! Gloves in there. The man was doing well with all things considered. Compound fracture to his wrist was all that was noticeable anyways. After getting him on a spine board and packaged up, the ambulance arrived and took him off. Saying bye to the FF I was on my way again. Total delay was about 45min. After getting through the hills it levelled out pretty good and guess what I got?? Yep a tailwind! Oh what a sweet glorious tailwind. After getting that there wasnt any stopping me! Minus the fact that I was starving due to the lack of any store and the one there was it was way too expensive. I made it to Oceano and after a little looking found a campground that had a biker site as the one I was planning on didnt anymore and was full. I almost reached my goal today of 200Km but came up .08km short when I pulled into my site!!! So close maybe tomorrow Ill have better luck! So all in all it was a good day.
