Day 16.... Well day 15 went on a bit...Brian in the bay - TopicsExpress

Day 16.... Well day 15 went on a bit...Brian in the bay opposite me fell into some serious trouble and the amazing staff at The Lowen ward were fighting for him all night...as were myself Terry and Anthony....the new space cadet next to me was trying to get attention and not happy when not getting it...and for possibly silly or trivial things...maybe selfish...maybe his treatment...but not welcome....offers of help to medical staff were declined...guess they didnt want a 16stone, 6ft Scotsman on steroids sorting out there ward for them then...Terry had words...that appeared to help... But I was still messaging and awake at 0245hrs...missed my 0315hrs flush change...feeling a warm sensation throughout at 0440hrs pee... awoke again at 0840hrs....and then I realised..... I shall spare the graphic details folks...but doubled up in pain in bathroom...felt like my legs and arms were in lava...double vision, wretching, and in a rough place for an hour...knocks on door from nurses who were concerned... Had an upturn, got clear and was showered....and now The Genius rechargeable razor decides it cant really hold a 5-7 day charge...it gives up the ghost leaving me with half a beard....not in fecking length...but in fecking location....be doing that turning from one profile to another for a day or so.... For sale...the worlds most amazing miniature rechargeable razor...5-7 day charge....closer shave than full size razor...can be used in the shower...can be used when travelling...can be used on vacation.... Pile of absolute Shite.... Had final flush and then wired up to a 4 day pump for potential release from hospital....but after my reaction this morning and my previous morphine one they are happy to watch over me for a while longer.... clean clothes...have shaven felt a bit better and managed to eat a bit of lunch....drinking/sipping everything to help flush the nasty shit out of me... tidy round my bed space then lie down and fall asleep... woken by the dulcet tones of Graeme Lake...having scooted through the horrendous traffic...in the foul weather on Mr Rusty to come visit me...a very welcome guest indeed... lovely couple of hours with my friend before tea arrived...which I managed part of... Then just as I was settling a clink clink sound arrived...and a very familiar face arrived around the curtain...Mr Michael OBrien...a friend and fellow Celtic hooligan of many adventures in the 90s and 00s... A VERY significant man in my life in many ways with celtic music, charities and events...flown in from Tipperary to visit me... So visiting time was extended by 2 hours this evening and reminiscing was warm and welcome...and an offer of a stay at easter next year when I should be well enough to travel for my R&R in the emerald Isle.... During this I spoke with my councillor....oooh offer of a 1 bed flat in St Austell.....current resident moves out in 4 weeks and theyd need to get it ready for me ... Guess I may be searching sooner....cant take up a hospital bed for 5 weeks now can I... Back to chats of Michael junior running a Buddhist retreat close by and tales of big fires and nights without electricity and candles lighting the house...no mobiles...no televisions...live music only.... I can feel the healing from the affliction and treatment through the smooth Irish accent of this friend.... A day of fear...realisation...recovery...welcome friends newer and older...and a view back over the day a lot lot different to how I thought this blog was going to be... It is most definitely a journey of discovery and plans...huh...no say with them so my preaching of living in the moment is one I shall have to practise... Kx
