Day 16 of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month: As I have stated over the last few days Childhood Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children today.. When Aimee was diagnosed I asked HOW is it possible that an 11 year old child gets a brain tumor with NO KNOWN cause, or CURE...The doctors told me it JUST HAPPENS!!!!! Really!! Im sorry Aimee and I did NOT like that answer.. So, Aimee had asked me to make that my primary focus through her foundation... Find out WHY/HOW she got sick and then find a way to stop it, so no other child has to suffer as she did... Many others have told me over the years that there is NO CAUSE for childhood cancer and I was crazy for even attempting to research possible causes! My answer to all of them how do you KNOW IF YOU DONT LOOK!!! I honestly feel there are multiple causes, between genetics and environmental not just one!!! Ive come across multiple links between the children that have participated in my survey.. As I head out to Washington DC for Curefest where over 100 foundation and advocates are coming together as one voice in the fight against childhood cancer over the next few days. I will share information from our survey... I know there are ANSWERS, and I WILL find them, no matter how crazy others may think I am!!!!!!
