Day 166 Stable and Steadfast Col 1:23 ...if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed hin all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister. One step forward, two steps back... Our Christian life is almost like a ride on a roller-coaster: we rise to ecstasy when we encounter God, and the next minute we find ourselves slipped into a spiritual dip... From faith to doubt, from victory to feeling defeated, from keeping promise to breaking trust, from stillness to restlessness... etc. Many thought of giving up... This Christian journey is such a painful walk... Others hardened their hearts and ignored the swinging movements and accept it as a norm... Is it normal to swing between good and bad,swing up and down... But this would look like a Bipolar disorder right? Paul reminded the Colossians that Christ is sufficient, for through him and in him, he brings and holds all things. Christ Jesus has made peace, reconciled us to God and man to man, and to ourselves. Because of the complete work and sufficiency of Christ, indeed we are to CONTINUE in the faith.. STABLE and STEADFAST, not shifting from the hope of the gospel. How do we overcome our raging tempest within and outside of our lives? KEEP our eyes and hearts and hope on the hope of the gospel! This is the anchor of our stability and steadfastness of our Christian faith. Anytime, we shift our eyes from this hope, we will end up in despair. Be quick to turn your gaze back to the Cross! Because we are conscious that we are redeemed by Christ, loved by God, and all things are held together by Christ, we will guard our responses to conflicts - both inner and external conflict. In bringing God into the storm in our lives, there is peace, for ChristJesus is our moderator. For we will act foolishly and sink into despair when we are in panic. "... continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel." You will be well with Christ Jesus with you.
