Day 17 UWIM FASTING BLOG Day 17 Come now, you who say, today or tomorrow we will go to such and such city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make profit”; 14: where as you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. 15: Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” James 4:13–15 And This We will do if God permits Hebrews 6:3 As we started off this year, I began to meditate on how different it felt compared to other years. Then I came to the conclusion that I didn’t want to start this year like every other year, without first consulting God. Many times we make the mistake to plan our year without really seeking God and His perfect will for our journey throughout the year, and we end up not really fulfilling what we had planned for the year. I believe that we must seek God for guidance before we make any decisions in our walk. Is it wrong to plan ahead, we may ask? I don’t believe so, the problem is not necessarily good planning, but rather when we make the mistake of not considering God as the center of our plans. The scripture we just read is a perfect example of what I’m referring to, many times, even as Christians, we make the mistake to fall short in this particular area, due to the fact that we prepared without first consulting Him and His perfect will. We are no exception of making this mistake over and over again. What is interesting is that at times they are not necessarily bad plans or plans that lead us to evil. But on the contrary we must beware of the good plans that seem to be positive and pleasant, but in the end may take us far from the will of God. Let’s not forget that there is a difference between the permissible will of God, and the perfect will of God for our lives. Which of the two do we desire for our lives this 2014? Let’s take time during these 40 days of fasting and prayer to really ask God what His perfect will is for our lives. Let’s not forget He has already planned this entire year for us. If we seek him first, everything else will fall into place. Miriam Solorio “! Vamos ahora! Los que decís: Hoy y mañana iremos a tal ciudad, y estaremos allá un ano, y traficaremos, y ganaremos 14: cuando no sabéis lo que será mañana. Porque ¿Qué es vuestra vida? Ciertamente es neblina que se aparece por un poco de tiempo, y luego se desvanece. En lugar de lo cual deberías decir: si el Señor quiere, viviremos y haremos esto o aquello.” Santiago 4:13-15 “Y esto haremos si Dios permite.” Hebreos 6:3 Al comenzar este año, comencé a meditar que diferente se sentía el comienzo de este año comparado a los demás. Llegue a la conclusión que no quería comenzar este año como los años pasados, sin primero consultar a Dios. Muchas veces cometemos el error de planear nuestro año sin buscar al Señor y su perfecta voluntad para la jornada del año, y nos encontramos no llevando acabo lo que habíamos planeado. Yo creo que tenemos que buscar la guía del Señor antes de tomar decisiones en nuestro caminar. Es malo planear antes, se puede preguntar? No creo que lo sea, el problema no es el planear bien, sino es el no considerar a Dios como el centro de nuestros planes. La escritura que acabamos de leer es un ejemplo perfecto de lo que me refiero, muchas veces, aun como cristianos, comentemos el error de venir cortos en esta área, debido al hecho que preparamos antes de consultarle a Él y su perfecta voluntad. No somos exceptos de cometer este error ves tras ves. Lo que es interesante es que no necesariamente son planes malos, ni planes que nos llevaran hacer lo indebido. Sino al contrario deberíamos de estar alertos a los planes buenos que parecen ser positivos, pero al final nos llevan lejos de la voluntad de Dios. Que no se nos olvide que hay una diferencia entre la permisiva voluntad de Dios, y entre la perfecta voluntad de Dios para nuestras vidas. Cuál de las dos deseamos para nuestras vidas en este 2014? Hay que tomar tiempo durante estos 40 días de ayuno y oración para preguntarle a Dios cuál es su Perfecta voluntad para nuestras vidas. No hay que olvidarnos que el ya planeo este año entero para nosotros. Si le buscamos a el primero, todo lo demás caerá en su lugar. Miriam Solorio March 27, 2014Leave a reply
