Day 17 of our look at the 31 Days of Halloween comes from the mind of Dickie Goodman. Goodman was a music & record producer, best known for inventing and using the technique of the break-in, an early precursor to sampling, that used brief clips of popular songs to answer comedic questions posed by voice actors. Some of the songs that came from Goodman and his partner Bill Buchanan were The Touchables a take-off on the Untouchables ... Ben Crazy for Ben Casey ... and, his biggest Mr. Jaws, which sold a million copies. Along the Halloween theme, the Buchanan & Goodman tune, The Flying Saucer in 1956, Flying Saucer The 2nd, the following year and, our Halloween song today, Frankenstein of 59, which includes a Bela Lugosi sound alike as one of the interviewers. Tomorrows Halloween tune was, at one time voted, the worst song of all time.
