Day #178: My feet pointed me in the direction of the Overlook - TopicsExpress

Day #178: My feet pointed me in the direction of the Overlook Hill today and I followed. Not necessarily agreeing with them, but following along anyway. A positive in walking these hills is the walk to them and all the dreading that I do on the way is actually starting to be worse than walking the hill itself. When I made it to the top and circled the parking lot I thought I need to take a picture from up here. Something Ive seen done by others, but have yet to do myself. So I ventured to the observation deck and already having my camera ready, I only had to pause long enough to snap the pic. I then turned and headed back toward the hill. But not before I said, out loud I might add, God Im HOT! Well the big guy upstairs must have took that as a hint that I wished I was a cooler. Because not 3 steps after saying that, the skies opened up with absolutely no warning sprinkles or anything. It was like someone dumped a bucket of water and me and kept dumping buckets until I reached the bottom and turned onto the highway where it quit almost as fast as it started. Needless to say I was cooled off. Yet I was even more miserable than when I was hot. Soaking wet clothes and shoes are heavy. Coupled with the extra weight I already carry, I was really weighted down...lol I did see a couple of people though. I saw Kim, both starting and finishing her walk, Ashley and a bunch of people that I know I dont know, but yet they waved and I did also. Finishing up I saw Verna, Holly and Alyssa. I should add, D beat me to the finish line again. She pulled up beside me on St. Louis Avenue and rode along beside me until we got home. Heres my brief view of the damn and the rain I had the pleasure of walking back down the hill in.
