Day 18: Where shall I begin? Today was full of positivity. I began in Navasota TX at 4:30 am. Night riding was a new experience with such ambiance. Full moon shinning down, fog hovering above the hay fields, and the coolest temps Ive rode in thus far. Made my way west to Burton TX where I stopped for breakfast. The cafe was the small towns hot spot and boy were they friendly. They all were interested in my ride and every customer that entered was immediately introduced to me. I almost didnt want to leave. I continued my way through the rolling hills into bishop/Bastrop state parks where I was taken on a bicycle roller coaster ride. I topped speeds of 50mph and went up hills so steep I had to hop off my bike and walk. I made my way into Bastrop which was a very lively town and that has been a rare thing since hitting Louisiana a while back. I went into the grocery store to pick up dinner and beer for the camp site and was blown away by what transpired. Everyone in line, as well as the cashiers, asked all about my ride and my donations Ive raised. Next thing I know the whole store purchased my food, beer, and even bought me a coozey because You cant be drinking no warm beer! My heart is full of love and gratitude after everything today. The heat (which hit 99) didnt even phase me. My mental health was top notch thanks to the wonderful people in Texas. Im now here relaxing with a cold beer and campfire ready to roast some hotdogs after the campground owner started up the pit for me...but I lit the fire...which was AWESOME...the video wont download from my go pro for a lame reason so heres a video tribute to Always Sunny in Philadelphia. (Ill post epic fire pit video ASAP) Tomorrow begins my break for two days in Austin (technically San Marcos) where I get to hang out with an old KU friend, Jenna !! Overall, Navasota TX to Cedar Creek TX, 115 miles give or take :)
