Day+185 (post transplant) The past few weeks Joseph has been really enjoying the Christmas season. He is still under isolation precautions (meaning he should avoid crowds and when we are in a crowd he should be wearing a mask and gloves) We are very lucky to have met really amazing people that have organizations that help children battling all kinds of illnesses. Our December has been booked with Christmas parties with Santa. Our boys loved every minute of the excitement. Thanks to The Ashley wade foundation and Candlelighters NYC (Ashley & Barbara!) you ladies really know how to throw a partymy boys (especially Joseph) are still talking about all the fun! Events like this for Joseph, I really think boosts Josephs morale and helps him keep fighting. This past week we had his last chemo via spinal tap and we had his 6month post transplant biopsy ....Thursday afternoon we got the wonderful news that Joseph is still CANCER FREE!!! We couldnt be happier! We will get other details on the biopsy this upcoming week. But most importantly NO CANCER! Going forward Joseph will still need to get his blood drawn weekly/biweekly to check his levels plus he needs increased physical therapy because his legs still arent as strong as we would like. He still needs to work on how to move his legs and feet as he walks because he has become accustomed to walking a certain way because of the previous weakness. Aside from that Joseph has come a long way! He wont need another procedure until June...thats just amazing considering all that has happened in this past year! Our Christmas gift has come early this year! As parents we have a new perspective on life and we are so grateful for all that God has done taking care of our boy (of course all of the boys too!) We would like to wish everyone following our page a wonderful Christmas & a healthy and happy New Year!
