Day 19 - I am grateful that #YK30DoG suggested (in an email I was merely skimming) we do this 30 days of gratitude (with a contest as incentive = bonus) because, though it is not a novel idea, I had not been enticed to endeavor in this way - we do a thankful tree for November with the kids, little notes or chats here and there, but this is more, and a lot of sharing (sorry). Since then, without thoughts towards that contest, I have enjoyed this thought process. Daily reflections of the good in this world really changes your perspective on the day or even the moment. Too often, I trudge on through and allow myself to get bogged down, but meeting this challenge has helped me recognize the brighter sides, reflect on the good that has happened, savor the nice moments. On many days I have had a hard time choosing the one thing I want to share and on others I find myself wanting to return to the same things because I am so very thankful for them. Now I am inspired to continue emphasizing gratitude in our lives - a journal, a jar, nightly dinner conversation... I am not sure how, but I think that may be my new years resolution so I am open to suggestions. And I thank you all for the likes and comments too, I am always surprised and flattered that so many kind folks notice what I babble about.
