Day 19 (26 weeks gestation) I could cry, I’ve just finished writing today’s update on my phone then deleted it instead of copying it!!! So here goes again…..grrrr…. Jack has had a good day and has been stable. His skin is still looking great and his stomach is looking a lot less bloated. His weight during the night was 810 grams. He is still on nil by mouth because there is still a small amount of green bile coming out of his stomach, no more blood though which is great. He is still on antibiotics until the results of yesterdays blood cultures come back tomorrow. Tonight we have just been over for Jack’s cares. His weight is 840 grams which is great considering his hasn’t had any milk for days. When the nurse was changing his mask Jack opened his eyes for the very first time. It was so exciting and very cool that Marty was there. I’d only just said to Jack that his dad was leaving tomorrow so he needed to wait until next weekend to open them. That was a very special milestone for us. I have felt really good today, although have been really hungry. I had to start the day on jelly and water and could slowly introduce low fat foods. So far so good but I am so so nervous about getting that terrible pain back. Tomorrow morning I have an ultra sound so will hopefully get some answers. This morning Victoria and Marty visited us at our new home, which was lovely. This afternoon Marty and I headed into town for a look around some shops and to spend some time together away from here before Marty heads home in the morning. Mum has decided to come over and stay for a few days so I am not alone if that awful pain returns (I pray it never does!). Thank god for mums, particularly mine she is the best ever!
