Day 2 - Laguna Beach My drive from Venice Beach to Laguna was luckily dull and uneventful. The freeways and traffic were not nearly as bad as I expected. I took the 405 south until my phone told me to get off on 73, a toll road, ugh. It was worth it. My jaw dropped as I drove over the mountain and down into Laguna Canyon. It was hands down the most beautiful place Ive ever been. I might even go back and watch The Hills. Thats saying alot right there. I drove up steep cliffs and wound through multi-million dollar homes before getting to my next rest stop on Skyline Dr. It is a large house built into the side of the mountain with breathtaking views of downtown Laguna Beach and the Pacific Ocean. My hosts were nice enough to drive me on a little tour of the area and then I got out and wondered. I stopped by a farmers market and then had lunch at a bar called Hennesseys. Afterwards I went to the ocean and took a free trolley up and down the Pacific Coast Highway. My host KC was putting an art exhibit on at the Sawdust Art Festival so she gave me a free ticket. It was a huge festival with live entertainment and lots of exhibits. After Sawdust I went to the Pageant of the Masters, a world famous live art exhibit. They had a celebrity red carpet and 7 time Grammy winner Al Jarreau performed beforehand. The show was pretty incredible but my only recomendation would be to sit near the front for better viewing. Next stop - Laguna Beach 1 more night, nice!
