Day 2. I was at first entranced by Santos figures and then American folk art, as I loved the weathered wood look, which was to me a metaphor for growing older and weathering down to our essential being while retaining or remembering the innocence and magic of our childhood. You will see, though, that my work becomes more solid and modeled. The faces are from 19th/early 20th century doll molds to remove them from a specific time and place. These pieces are from 2008/2009. I would like to invite Alison Ye to share her wonderful work.
