Day 2: Ireland. Breakfast overlooking Blarney Village and the Village Green. Another try at the driving on the other side of the road. Doing better. Navigating the curb a little difficult when cars are coming at you on the opposite side of the road. Arrived safely in Cork. Saw some original Irish art at the Crawford The Irish Rebellion was a popular topic for the Yeats brothers. Some of the faces looked familiar. Possibility? Visited st Finbarr Cathedral. Incredible stained glass and Italian mosaics. Is it possible Great grandmother was baptized here? A well kept secret of a Protestant in the family? We have met so many friendly people. Great craic. I think, I am using the term correctly. Backed to Blarney. Staying at the Blarney Woolen Mills Hotel. Upgraded to executive suite and on the house dinner due to reservation mix up.The luck of the Irish. Edward Lynchs family has come a long way. Maryann insisted she was not interested in shopping. Three hours later at the Woolen Mills and we need another suitcase to get the goods home. They mentioned free shipping but they got concerned when Maryann found a couch she liked! Weather nice. But humidity in Ireland?? One disappointing item. They advertise chipswith the fish. They are just frozen French fries! But the scones with Irish butter is the best and have found myself in a pub every afternoon having a pint. Powerscourt tomorrow then up to Dublin.
