Day 2 Recap of Reno-maggedon: After taking our time rising and the cheapest breakfast of all time (and yet still tasty as heck), we ventured, on foot, to the Virginia Street Antique Mall. We found a handful of tiny items to bring home, including a mini glass frenchie, just like Gambit. And I got a bunch of fun tchotchke photos (Jen, we might have to bring back the challenge soon). We then were on our way to a record shop down the street when we saw this cute brewhouse (St. James Brasserie), where we stopped in and did 2 flights of six beer tastings. It was quite ambitious of us, but the fries and garlic lemon aioli helped. Favorites: Koln, Wit, Redhead, Dubbel... the rest though, definitely worth a try. We then ventured into a 90s Long Beach-era record shop, got a few to sell and some to keep. Then to Public House, which is not in inland Cali as my Foursquare checkin incorrectly claimed. But it felt like a joint right out of the city. As a matter of fact, when we said the city the barkeep knew we meant Buena Vista when discussing legit Irish coffee. He had the same glasses they do at BV. We then proceeded to play the worst game of Big Buck Hunter of allllll time. Youd think this day couldnt get better, but then there was dinner at Sterlings, the most amazing Ribeye & Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo... And then a delightful Johnny Cash tribute show, where William and I sang along to almost every song, from the second row. Apparently, we were noticed as the cast told us after the show that they loved watching us sing and clap along. It was spectacular and we would recommend seeing it—called Ring of Fire. Finally, we finished our evening at a local spot we were told about during the St. James tasting, called the Infirmary, where we met and made friends with Robert & Sierra, who happened to be a freaking hilarious/awesome couple. We enjoyed the scene with some outdated hip hop, which was kinda fun and then ambled back on to the hotel... G-night.
