Day 2 of Granddaughter Guitar Camp - Last night Aubs and I started the framework of a song - I guess were on more of a Songwriters Camp :-) She started riffing on what heaven might be like ... she was inspired after I played her the song her Aunt Kristy and I wrote when Aunt Kristy was 11. Im trying to remember just HOW, as an 8 year old I had the intestinal fortitude and focus to stick with the guitar. The fact that I was A.D.D. (not a diagnoses back then, however), and I was relatively sure I was going to be the next Johnny Bench, or Mickey Mantle, musician didnt seem to be in the cards. Im thinking it might have been the fact that I was SURE that I was going to be either the 4th member of Peter, Paul & Mary, or the 5th Beatle that kept me going. As puberty set in it was kind of cool that girls thought I was cuter with a guitar - at least, thats what I HEARD, since I was afraid to even talk to them! :-) Today Aubs and I will work on playing You Are My Sunshine and Im going to bring her up to perform a song with me Friday night at College Hill Coffee Company. CUTE ALERT for those who are coming out Friday night! :-) NOTE to Brian and Peggy - Key of D! :-)
