Day 2 of helping out Sabrina and her family. Megan Nagase-Le and I spent all day focused on Sabrina Johns (read post from yesterday) starting at 7 a.m. and did not finish until 4:00. We dropped off some formula and food in the morning before our big shopping trip. I first off have to mention some people who gave HUGE today for this family!! Warriors who have their own struggles and gave so generously. Helen from another organization gave us $50.00 to help buy food for this family and we got an additional $20 from another frequent volunteer. We met Kristin Holloway at Walmart and she GENEROUSLY provided us with 3 HUGE boxes of food. Everything you could imagine from pantry items, condiments, cold food, frozen food etc.. This made the money we had stretch so far. We were able to get the staples (milk, bread,eggs,meat, fruit, vegetables, bottled water, cereal etc) and only went over by 3.14 (which was mainly because we were so hungry we had to get ourselves a snack after 2 hrs of shopping). We were then joined by Racheal Stone (who is a family we have assisted with baby items) and she provided even more food! We were able to get more milk, meats, chips, soda and more items!! From a fridge with barely anything in it and the kind heart of you warriors, they now have A LOT of food and formula for their babies! Another Warrior named Robin has generously bought the family a double stroller (theirs broke) and will be delivered tomorrow. We also were able to obtain a water filter system with 2 water filters to help them save on bottled water.Today was a HUGE success! - We are doing very limited pickups and deliveries Friday-Sunday each week. These are the days we spend with our families. -We are still in search for Neocate formula. -Our popular formulas that we need constantly are: Similac Advance Powder (Blue Can) Similac Sensitive Powder (Orange Can) Enfamil Gentlease Powder & Liquid -We need diapers Size 1-4 ANY Brand. -To Donate money for us to buy items for families: https://youcaring/HenrysWarriors
