Day 2 of the 7 day 7 songs 7 friends challenge given to me bay Christopher David. So, after the Gordon lightfoot years, comes the Metallica era. My dad would drop us off at school and listen to Metallica on the way to work. Problem is, he would forget to turn it off when he would come to pick us up after school. so we would get a few songs in before he realized what he was exposing his darling, innocent children to and turn it off. Eventually my older brother got mad and told him to stop turning it off because we were listening to it. My dad remarried and my step mom would drive me around so I didnt hear Metallica as much until high school when I was reintroduced to it. I found it interesting that the pop music and boy bands I had been listening to was easily forgettable. i couldnt remember the words unless the song was playing.. but the Metallica song I could remember easily despite not hearing it for several years. This is what led me into rock and alternative music. I chose Enter Sandman because why not. I think its a lovely juxtapose to Gordon Lightfoots The pony man and I love me some juxtapose.
