Day 2 of the gratitude challenge: The outcome of last weeks general elections in Sweden will color my responses for today. 1. Im grateful for democracy. All of us living in democracies easily forget that someone once fought for the right to vote, and that this fight is still going on in many countries over the world. Im happy that 85.81% of the Swedes took advantage of this right last week. Im especially happy that my municipality topped the voting league (again) where 92.9% voted. 2. Im grateful for outgoing Prime Minister Reinfeldt and his cabinet. Thank you for all you have done for Sweden. We come out of this global economic crisis as one of the strongest economies in the western world thanks to the policies of your competent government. The outgoing Minister of Finances, Anders Borg, as well as the other party leaders of Alliance for Sweden all deserve their own shout outs too. 3. Im grateful for the 200 years of peace Sweden has enjoyed. Let us, in these times of rearmament, all work together to achieve a lasting global piece.
