Day 2 (well, Night 1 kinda carried over into Day 2) NEVADA ~ I - TopicsExpress

Day 2 (well, Night 1 kinda carried over into Day 2) NEVADA ~ I cant say that I fell in love with the state, but what it did bring me were some pretty amazing moments that actually are huge parts of my life. A few key parts that fill my soul the most. Didnt know I was stopping in Reno night one, but was reminded by the RENO 20 miles sign that I needed to go hug some special friends. So I texted Javier, told him I was 20 mins out to which he texted back HOLY CRAP! and followed it up by saying hed leave work in 10. So I parked in front of their home waiting, didnt know if Khara was home until the door flew open, their (cute as all hell) cat came running out to greet me and Khara came out with her huge smile and arms wide open for a hug! Haha She said the neighbor got nervous since there was some random person in a van sitting outside their house. 3 hours later, Javier, Zhoe and I walked around their neighborhood and caught up on life. Khara came home just in time to give me a hug goodbye. FRIENDS. Drove as far as my eyes would stay open and stopped in Winnamucca, no reason besides to take advantage of Walmart and their you can sleep in our parking lot anytime policy. I nestled in between a few RVs and then took off bright and early the next morning. (Ok, now) Day 2 ~ Nevada, youre no beauty, but you did give me long stretches of road to drive, one of my all time favorite things to do. Stopped in the town of Elko to grab a coffee at a local coffee shop. I left my mark, theyd never heard of grinding coffee beans in a frappucino! Haha! Elko will forever be changed! There was a Cowboy poetry Gathering that night next door, I contemplated it for about 2.5 seconds and decided to keep driving. Thats too much for one city girl to handle I think. More long stretches of just me, my girl and the big rigs. Just as I was contemplating picking up a hitchiker or 3 (pshh, no way!) a Prison Area - Hitchhiking Prohibited sign appeared, thanks for the heads up NV :) Made the turn that pointed me toward Twin Falls, flew threw Jackpot, NV and then there was Idaho. Not sure why Odaho has been a pull for me, but my insides filled with butterflies. Nevada reminded me to stop and take in the scenery of life no matter how long the road is, its always there for a purpose. Sometimes giving you moments to contemplate things or just be nowhere at all and sit with that and appreciate the beauty that surrounds you and the life you have. And that, I did.
