By Setting Ourselves Apart for Gods Work FOUNDATION SCRIPTURE: John 10v36 » Jesus says, Why do you call it blasphemy when I say, ‘I am the Son of God’? After all, the Father set me apart and sent me into the world. INTRO: In recent times weve witnessed certain separate sagas involving some famous sports personalities. Tiger Woods infidelity & Luiz Alberto Suarez Diazs Vampire stunt on the football pitch. OFF-THE-FIELD & ON-THE-FIELD incidents respectively but both cost them big time. Tiger lost his marriage & also lost so many sponsorship deals plus, his soaring career dipped awhile. Luiz Suarez is still serving a hefty ban & a fine. Their bosses & fans got so disappointed in them. Lets consider our study today in light of this... ELUCIDATION: The one who saved us from sin still remains both our EMPLOYER/SPONSOR & ULTIMATE FAN & Hes so much interested in how we behave both in personal (off-field) & ministry (on-field) lives. (a) ON-THE-FIELD ACCOUNT:- You dont walk d surface of planet Earth as a Christian thinking ure ur own boss, doing what u like, as and when u wanna. Nope! Ure Gods & He expects u to do His work; - NOT IN UR FREE TIMES - NOT WHEN U FEEL LIKE OR IN THE MOOD In John 20:21 Again he said, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so AM I SENDING YOU.” Implying that were sent on a mission. Hence we ought to step out of the lot & start fishing for Christ - thats Gods work. Every encounter with another human is an opportunity to do this work. (b) OFF-THE-FIELD ACCOUNT:- There r abt 6billion humans walking d surface of d Earth & ure fortunate enough be part of those d Spirit of God has touched. Its by grace that Gods word has bn able to penetrate ur heart. You cud hv bn hard-hearted like Pharaoh & got perished OR still be in sin like d many peers u know, but Jesus chose u out of d lot, SET U APART, so u wudnt live any longer like u used to. 2 Cor 6:17-18 affirms it thus, Therefore, come out from them and SEPARATE yourselves from them, says the Lord. DONT TOUCH their FILTHY THINGS. And I will be your Father, and you will be My Sons and Daughters, says the Lord Almighty, and I will welcome you. CONCLUSION: In John 17:17-19 (NKJV) Jesus prays, Sanctify them by Your Truth. Your Word is Truth. As You sent Me into the World, I also have sent them into the World. And for their sakes I Sanctify Myself, that they also may be Sanctified by the Truth. By this prayer YHVH sanctified u & I for the purpose of making disciples for Him. So you see, its evidently clear that our call into grace is a call into being like Christ. If he was set apart for all good works we must follow His perfect example & also set ourselves apart by the power of the Holy Ghost, putting our on-the-field & off-the-field lives in check. Remain sanctified, & piously potent & purposeful for all good works, & you shall be like Christ Jesus. Blessed week to everyone that SPENDS TIME & MONEY to READ THIS, PRAYERFULLY.
