Day 23- I am thankful for my city. Warren, MI, population 134,141 is the city I have called home for almost as long as I can remember. My family moved here from St. Clair Shores, MI in 1977 when I was only four years old, and except for a 15 month period when I first got married and resided in Clinton Township, Ive lived in Warren ever since. I consider myself to be a lifelong resident up in the northeast corner our beautiful city. Warren is certainly a great place to live and raise a family. We are very much a family friendly community and I really love the people from my hometown. I got to meet quite a few of them during my four year stint as a volunteer coach for the Warren Police Athletic League youth baseball program and I have also volunteered to help out with my friend and co-coach Jason Mcclanahan during his two campaigns running for Warren City Council. Im telling you, I dont know anybody who loves Warren more than Jason!! That man truly lives, breathes, eats and sleeps for Warren. LOL. Our city features a newly renovated town center with a beautiful City Hall and Civic Center Library located inside. We also have a community center located by 14 Mile and Mound Rd. with just about every amenity you could ever possibly want, including a full fitness center and gym and an olympic sized swimming pool and an indoor kiddie waterpark. Warren is also the headquarters of the GM Technical Center and world headquarters of TACOM and Elias Brothers Big Boys Restautants as well. I am very fond of our Mayor, Jim Fouts, as I think he has done an admirable job leading our city for the past six years. Most of all though Warren is simply my hometown. It is the 36 square mile area I consider my stomping grounds. I have a lot of pride in my city and I love the people here. It is the home of my church family and of course many of the places we often frequent. Lord, I thank you today for my city, Warren, Michigan. Thank you for providing me such a wonderful place to call home and I ask that you would continue to bless those of us who live here. Amen.
