Day 231: People ask me Jesse, how can you be so positive after what you been through health/heart wise (since Jan 2014) and some even say that I am inspiration, but my answer to both is that GOD still has huge, huge plans for me and because of HIM I am a BLESSED man! It has been 33 weeks since my heart attack, 23 weeks since my surgery for my defibrillator/pacemaker, 14 weeks now since my triple by-pass surgery (to the day), 6 weeks ago I was admitted in the Jackson Hospital (Montgomery AL) for Congested Heart Failure and now I have been home for 36 days...BLESSED! It has been a busy, busy first two weeks of school...everyday our AFJROTC program is maturing/growing in aso many positive ways! Our cadets have been extremely busy 187 community service hours already (with less cadets), taken a basic knowledge test, started drill practice/Cyber Patriot meeting, this morning they performed a color guard for Social Security CFC Kick-off (less than a mile from the Pentagon), tomorrow they will take the Presidential Fitness Test, Friday they will be visited my the Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force James A. Cody, that night they will perform a color guard at the Wakefield High School football game (one of 4 different high schools this year) and all that is just scratching the surface (I didnt even name everything that they have done or will do...they are AWESOME)! We have great support from HQ AFJROTC and our school administrators, our cadet leadership is amazing (led by a strong Group Commander) and our 1st year cadets are one of the strongest that I have ever seen! I absolutely LOVE my job, because AFJROTC is an amazing program focused on developing citizens of character dedicated to serving their nation and community! GOD is Great and yes, I am a very, very BLESSED man! Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. —James 3:13
