Day 25: People will judge you for no reason. Use the stones they cast to build a solid foundation because you are strong, you are unstoppable. Michael Kilby. Why do we judge ourselves and others so negatively? According to the website positivelypresent we judge because we are insecure, we are scared, we are lonely and we are seeking change. This website also focuses on 5 things that judgments do and 6 ways to stop judging others. Passing judgment is often second nature and we can judge without realizing what we are doing. On the other side of this is that we are often very open and verbal about passing judgment on others. We judge them on their clothes, their behavior, or just because we dont like the way they look. Have you ever thought about the amount of time we spend judging others? The minutes would probably add up to hours, weeks and even months. This is time that could be spent doing so many other positive things. Of the 6 ways to stop judging others the one that hit me the hardest was Stop Judging Yourself. I have learned that I am my own worst enemy and cause the most harm to myself. What I try to pass off as worry and stress is actually caused by the deeper root of insecurity and negative thoughts about all that I tend to do wrong in life. I have an amazingly hard time excepting even the simplest, kindest compliment. I believe that we let our judgments lead us astray and the main person being harmed is our self. As you stand before the judge and the case is handed to the jury what will your sentence be? Today I challenge you to focus on the reason of seeking change. Dont judge anyone you may meet today whether it is a friend, a stranger and most importantly yourself. Look into the mirror and remind yourself that although you are not perfect you are still great and can make a difference. Greet each person with a smile, a friendly hello and wish them a great day. Step down from the pedestal and out of the courtroom. The foundation beneath you is as strong as you build it to be.
