Day 26 S: Psalms 22:11 “Do not stay so far from me, for trouble is near, and no one else can help me.” (reflection of most of the whole Psalm though in my soap) O: This Psalm exemplifies someone who is at a crossroads in their life where the “enemy” is near and there is nobody else to turn to. It reminds me of many stories I have read about history when in a battle a soldier is crying out to the Lord for help when there is nobody near him to help. Also, often times I have read war stories where atheists and non-believers were suddenly transformed into believers on the field of battle. I do not believe that I have ever read this Psalm and it was definitely a reminder that when you are down and out that you must not lose your faith even when you might think you have been abandoned. A: When I have moments in my life I will remind myself of this Psalm so that I can stay the course. I know now more than ever that God will never abandon me, but he may test me. P: Lord, help protect my family and I by always being that rock and cornerstone in our lives. Please watch over our church today and home during this intolerable weather. Amen.
