Day 27: Monsters Directed by Gareth Edwards, 2010 - NASA discovers life in our solar system, a probe goes to find it and bring some back, it does and basically unleashes these squid like monsters basically on the border of US and Mexico... how topical. The premise is good, should be a lot of meat for this story here... but the premise is pretty much just background to a road movie with a guy who is a photographer for a New York newspaper who is contracted from his boss to bring the bosss daughter back into the US through the quarantine zone. Again it sounds like a lot more could happen, but it definitely doesnt, probably 3 times in 1 hour and 30 minutes they were ever in any danger from the neon squid things. Important tidbit I found out though is that dolphins can only hold their breath for 15 minutes cause theyre a mammal... so it wasnt TOTALLY a waste of time. It was low budget and nothing was really wrong with it, just super boring.
