Day 3 - The Restorative Plan @evolverestorativetherapy Heres the key nuggets I picked up from todays session on stress, emotions and the primitive brain. 1. The definition if stress resonates with my belief that stress is a choice. 2. Constantly monitor your environment whilst maintaining self-awareness of where you are and what may / is stressing you. 3. Emotions are always an indicator of your body reacting to something in your space. I have been aware that I can overreact to those things that dont really matter. My aim is to not sweat the small stuff. 4. Always know where you are at so that I can recognize when to do/not do something. 5. Always seek emotions 1-8. When 9-22 show up work to return to 1-8 as thats where change and healing take place. 6. Always have faith in yourself and regularly affirm that you are safe, loved and trusted. 7. Our primitive brains primary driver is to keep us safe. 8. Our fight or flight response is triggered when we perceive a lack of love, safety and/or trust. 9. When afraid always ask, Am I loved? Am I safe? Am I trusted? 10. Know the difference between a reflex and an instinct. You cannot control a reflex but you can an instinct. 11. Fear leads to inaction which gives rise to doubt. To overcome fear we must take action. Courage leads to action leads to confidence.
