Day 3 The Lighting Bug Affect – Isaiah 58 9 Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity; 10 And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day: 11 And the Lord shall guide thee continually, (KJV) Just a few years ago on any given warm summer evening, just about dust dark, the air would be filled with lighting bugs. One could literally catch them in a jar and view the light show well into the night. Isaiah 58:9-11a reads, “If you get rid of unfair practices, quite blaming victims, quite gossiping about other people’s sins. If you are generous with the hungry and start giving yourselves to the down-and-out. Your lives will begin to glow in the darkness, your shadowed lives will be bathed in the sunlight, I will always show you where to go…” (MSG) Today I pray you can be a lightning bug and not just an ordinary lighting bug but, one that shine bright by loving others. The more you display love the brighter you will shine. Soon it will catch on and fill your atmosphere! Remember, pleasing God is more than what we don’t eat or don’t do; it is what we do for Him and for others. Let’s light them up today!
