The British wildcard struggled against the fierce attack from Wozniacki who managed to break serve and claim her 2-0 match win. The other notable mention of the day goes to Venus Williams, who appeared weak at the start of her play, gathered her spped and strength very quickly to confidently win a place in the third round over Kurumi Nara, winning 7-6, 6-1.
