Day 3 of Peggy & Monikas great adventure; We went to Monument Valley and drive the 17 Mile loop around the valley ourselves. It was a very steep dirt and rock road down into the valley, then dirt road around the buttes. Then in the late afternoon got a tour guide for a sunset jeep tour of the back country. He was a Navajo born and raised in the valley. He took us to a cave and played the flute and sang in Navajo. Then he took us to a Hogan where we watched a woman weave from lambs wool. Then we saw the buttes at sunset. The whole experience was so beautiful. Pictures just cannot express...
