Day 3 of the 5 Day Gratitude Challenge On this third day of the gratitude challenge, I choose to focus on my family (with no veiled reference to the homophobic religious organization in Colorado Springs). 1. I am grateful for my immediate family who are all based in Bangor, ME. This includes my Dad (Roland Nadeau) and my two brothers James Nadeau (Jimmy) and John Nadeau. Plus Karen, Sean, and Isaac, Helen, Jeannie, Dawn, Jean, and all the people who extend from our home on 62 Sunbury. Though I live a quite far away from you, I keep you close to my heart and love and support each of you. 2. I am grateful for my aunts and uncles who have been such an important part of my life over the years. The two that stand out for me are my Uncle John Flanigan and Uncle Tom Flanigan. The three of us represent the pink sheep of the Flanigan / Nadeau clan and I am very grateful to have grown up knowing that I wasnt the only gay person in my family. Your love, guidance, and support helped me as a young teenager to not only accept myself but paved the way for everyone else in our crazy, mixed up, Catholic family to accept each of us unconditionally. 3. I am also grateful for the close family I have chosen - my dear partner Eric Aufdengarten plus our two children Twister and Mozart. Eric has been my rock of support and my best friend for the past five years. You have made it possible for me to follow my dreams and have given up so much to support me. I can think of no one Id rather be with on this whirlwind of an adventure. I am grateful for every day I spend with you and for continuing to love me through the peaks and valleys of this roller coaster we call life. I love you.
