Day 3 of the Facebook art challenge. Today I am going to post three portrait works of mine. These three works made me learn a lot of new things regarding portraiture in oil and pencil. I found it very hard to do these portraits considering the fact that I am a beginner but the result was simply fantastic. The first is the Commission portrait of the great Dalai Lama which was given to me by my dear brother Anupam Rajkhowa. I had a lot of fun and experience doing this portrait. The second portrait was also a Commission for which I was never paid. It took exactly 5 hours to do this Alla Prima portrait and for me this was a feat considering the fact that I am not an expert in portraiture. The experience gained was nevertheless tremendous. The third is pencil sketch of Benedict Cumberbatch, my fav. actor from the new Sherlock Holmes tv series in BBC. It is a fan sketch and I had a lot of fun doing it. I hope you like them. As for today I am going to nominate my very talented friend, brother, fellow artist Jhankar Gogoi to take up the challenge and post his artworks here.
