Day 3 of the Gratitude Challenge! The challenge: One week. 3 things Im grateful for daily. Tagging 3 others to continue the challenge each day. On the 3 things I am grateful for on Day 3. 1. My muses. Any creative, designer, entrepreneur needs their muses ... those they surround themselves with to soak up inspiration, to hear stories, to dream up things together. And while my life is full of muses I have 4 I relay on most: Sandra Hansel: my leadership muse. My former manager and mentor she leads with an iron fist wrapped in a satin glove. The perfect combination of wit and compassion, self-deprecation and self-love. Wrapped in Pleats Please! with ridiculous jewelry and glasses, we somehow balance each other out on the style scales. Much of my leadership style I learned from her. Mark Silver: my inspiration muse. Being in Marks presence, alone, and you feel anything possible, anything achievable. We can cry, we can laugh, we can bite, sail, sun, dance, scream, drink. Whatever. I feel unstoppable with Mark. His magic you can touch. David Mason Chlopecki: my childlike muse. Crazy. Colorful. A peacock in human form, David continues to remind me that you dont have to always live in this world. You can successfully navigate this earth with your head in anothers orbit. I look at him and resist growing up. Alireza Massoumnia: my quiet muse. Always there. Fiercely loyal. Talented beyond belief. An encyclopedia knowledge of fashion, design, film, art, style. He moves in different ways than most of my friends and his quiet nature is an oasis in my sea of parrots and freaks I call friends. 2. Travel. I dont ever begrudge getting on a plane. Its never work even when it is. I get excited. I freak out. And I am so honored to have been able to travel all over the world, the US, Asia, Europe, South America, to see the Middle East and Africa. Its extraordinary! I have learned more over meals in foreign lands than in any school and in any job. My explorers heart needs it. I wish everyone gets to the see the world the way I have. Its the greatest luxury of my life. 3. Andy Warhol. My guiding light. I am a practicing Warholian. Everyone was a star in his eyes. Everyone had something to say.
