Day +31: Yep, one month post-transplant, and things continue to be uneventful. Brock had clinic appointments on Wednesday and Friday last week. Counts were down, but some fluctuation is expected so its not a concern. They drew blood for the chimerism test (which tells us the percentage of his blood cells are being produced by the donor marrow), but the results wont be back for a few weeks. Because he still has no evidence of GVHD (when the new immune system attacks his cells), one medicine was removed from Brocks regimen as of last night. Hes still receiving IV fluids at night for at least another week. After a little hiccup that resulted in a wasted bag Thursday, fluids have gone well. Brock continues to eat well. (Thank the Lord for a kitchen and generous donations of groceries!) My only stumbling block right now is getting him to drink enough. He cant come off the fluids until hes getting enough water to keep his kidneys happy. Clinic was closed today for the holiday, so we go tomorrow and Friday this week. Oh, and I apologize for the delayed updated. Wi-fi is sketchy here in our suite, so when its working well, I try to log into to the office to get work done. Have a great week, Brock Brigade!
