Day 37/38 Deiced to combine this as I didnt do one yesterday. Yesterday was a short day, but man it felt like I was there all day with helping with inventory. We did have a slight advantage as I forgot we would have a third person for a bit. This allowed me and mother in law to get quite a big lead on counting the store before she left. My original plan was to count cigarettes at the end of the night but for some reason the heat wasnt working right at the store. Instead of the usual, but still cold 70 degrees we had dropped to 67 last night. It was unusually cold that night so Im wondering if the heater had a hard time keeping up with it, plus the constant opening and shutting of the front door didnt help matters. I spent most of my night in a coat. So now Im counting back down to spring. Today is my last day working straight, I know get to go back to having days off starting tomorrow and with a new work schedule for me as well. This should get interesting. I havent had my schedule flip around since I was in classes at Edison Community College and now Im being flipped for someone who is going there. Im not complaining as I believe education is great and Im proud this new girl is going to college to better herself. Now to warn you all when I have moments, Im doing a countdown of hours if not minutes to freedom. Right now we stand at 10. I gave my self an extra hour to get paperwork and my normal Sunday stuff done. In the words of Jennifer L. Dunham no dilly dally or I watch Once Upon a Time and Walking Dead without you lol. So needless to say its quite the incentive to get the hell out of there :D Ill also have to get used to not taking the computer to work as much. Was nice having it with me as I had something to do during slow periods. On a more paranoid note, a big part of me feels Im going to be working multiple days in a row like this again and again. Since Ive more than proved I will work to fill in when necessary, I have a feeling this is going to come out a lot. This does work in my favor a bit as if things play out the way they do, I will need to step up more. After all Im one of two veterans (not counting the owner) left at the store and many believe with the owners age, things may change where I may or may not be working where Im currently at. If it comes to that well theres no choice but Ill need to look for other options. But now is not the time to think of the worst. Whatever happens happens and after 38 days straight I feel Im a stronger person and can handle most of what can be thrown at me now. So a home song is in order. Yes I know theres not home in the title, but its about Ohio (kind of) and since thats where I live it is home so it counts. It was either this or the Buckeyes song or Hang on Sloopy. I picked one I liked :D Stay tuned though in less than 10 hours (cause I type slow people), I will release the video that Ive been saving for when I am actually free from work. The key word free is a clue ;)
