Day 38 What a long day. Jumped on the bus and headed to Haight – Ashbury, We drove pass the Golden Gate Bridge on way and it had disappeared, completely hidden in the fog it was like it was never there. Haight – Ashbury is the jam. It’s packed with heaps of weird and kooky stores, just like the locals who roam the streets. We were told the hippie revolution started here and that vibe still holds true to this day. Where else would you find a shop that only sells tie-dye gears, funny thing is the little miss was mesmerized by this place. It’s got some dope street art as well as some mean music and street wear stores. My fave was the kid robot store and the little shop, which sold original star wars toys and original packets of the Garbage Pail kid cards. Chinatown like the one in NYC is a mad crazy place, it has a million stores and millions of Chinese food restaurants. Half the products are rip offs or junk but still cheap as. We had lunch in Little Italy; you know you are in this place when you see the Italian flag painted on all the streetlights. Did I say best Italian ever, served and cooked by real Italians. Mona Lisa was the restaurant, best cabornara ever. It was down to pier 39 then fishermen’s wharf. It’s more touristy down here than other parts of San Fran, which means it’s way more packed with people. Still a cool place to check out, I was tired by the time we got here. But Kiyana was still into it and full of energy. She is sleeping now, at last. Big day tomorrow, we off to Alcatraz, we need to get up early so we don’t miss the boat and we will probably check out the Waka at Team NZ. Chur.
