Day 4 - from Heatherbrae to Bulahdelah and whilst longer kms than yesterday was completed in a much better time as we are now on the highway!! Despite all being a bit leg weary, and having to go directly in to a NNE wind we had a great ride and felt very safe on the nice wide shoulder of the Pacific Highway. Sure there was a lot of traffic, but whenever possible, we really appreciated the large trucks that moved to the next lane while overtaking us. A structured and sign-posted path for cyclists at the busy on and off ramps allows for safer travelling. Arrived n Bulahdelah in time for lunch and to be able to place some bets on the Melbourne Cup! Tomorrow looms as a similar distance and the winds will again be head ones unfortunately. The following day we have a longer ride - but notice a predicted wind change to southerlies - so we might get our first tail winds soon!!
