Day 4 ...Cycle against Suicide ...Another day of this wonderful event draws to a close.....met some fantastic people on route today, people who just joined us for one day and some who are here for the 14 days , each gioving their full support to the cause......for me it was a tough start to the day, felt a bit crap this morning but by 11s the clouds were lifting and the energy was back....got to speak to cylist and students in Macroom, Co Cork. The energy within the crowd made speaking very easy, the attention been given to all speakers is 100%. The people we are meeting, students and others are keeping the message afloat. .........Its very easy to get carried along on the energy that is produced on an event like this, but today I took a brief step back to look at it from a distance. Friendships were being created, support was being shared, stories were been told, people were communicating.......I struggle to find words to describe the whats happening but I know its good, good for the cyclist, good for the students, good for the people we meet...but also good for all of us as we open the doors to reveal that its ok not to feel ok and its absolutely ok to ask for help.......it is easy to pick out people like Jim Breen and others who have worked so hard to make the event such a success, and that they have but it is with the support of the people of Ireland, you and me, standing shoulder to shoulder with Jim that we can break the cycle of Suicide in the island of Ireland. ................speaking for all of us on the cycle, we are grateful for the facebook support, likes and comments that all of us have been getting......It you want to leave a comment on this post, please just pledge that you will stand Shoulder to Shoulder with us along the journey......Thank you
