Day 4: I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travels sake. The great affair is to move. After two nights in Baroda along with my friends and my little sister Im back on the road again today. I have realised Garba is not my cup of tea; I dont like that sort of music, and I sure as hell cannot dance in circles. Nevertheless, Barodas United Garba is not something to be missed if you are in that part of the world during Navarathri. 35,000 people dancing in one place; Its maddening, the energy is unspeakable and the women beautifully well dressed. Deepika and Ankit, thank you so much for your love and hospitality! In a conversation today I just realised that I have ridden 84,000KMS in the past 24 months. Pretty amusing coming to think of it. My sister wanted to know why I ride so much; I ride because thats where I find peace. I ride because Im left alone with my thoughts, and not be judged or punished for what I feel or think; Sometimes I talk to myself and those happen to be the best conversations I have. I ride so that I have time to myself to keep asking the questions that never have an answer. Its my sanctuary away from a world I relate to lesser and lesser with each passing day. Riding - crutches to a aching heart and a disturbed mind! For the first time in my life, I had someone from my family touring with me today, and I totally loved having a precious cargo of a pillion from Baroda to Kutch! Once in a while its nice to be a bit slow, and less aggressive on the road; ... And not complain about being slow. I have reached Kutch, and started with my usual round of Patel-Point visits; and for the next couple of days Im not alone, and that makes me very happy!
