Day 4 Leviticus 13:45-46 The confirmed leper had to be careful not to infect or associate anyone else with his disease. There were certain signs a person had to demonstrate to reveal their state of being. They were to tear their clothes, uncover their head and cover the lower half of his face (over the top lip). As he moved and traveled, he had to declare verbally that he was unclean so that others would not come close to him. He had to live in isolation and outside the community. Tearing your clothes and uncovering your head were always signs of grief and mourning for a hopeless situation, primarily the dead. In many ways the leper represented the Walking Dead. The only thing the leper could look forward to was death. Covering your face represented shame. Sin will always cause shame as well. This is primarily because of the separation between the Father and His people. Why do you think we’ve lost the seriousness of sin in our lives?
