Day 4: Todays Tool... There are tools that I would say are in my top three favorite tools to use and share. Amongst those is The Five Love Languages (Physical Touch, Quality Time, Words of Affirmation, Gifts & Acts of Service. I strongly believe that this tool, coupled with personality colors can change your life. It changed my life! My top two (receiving) Love Languages are Physical Touch and Acts of Service. As for receiving gifts, it didnt register for me. What does that look like for me in everyday life? I LOVE it when I get home, look at the kitchen and its clean. Wayne can drive me wild especially if the dishwasher was ran and emptied. TRUE LOVE. I also enjoy hugs. Ive asked Wayne to give me a ten second hug daily to fill my need for Physical Touch. Whereas Wayne receives love through Words of Affirmation & Quality Time. I do my best to acknowledge him once daily about what I love best about him, or catch moments where I can affirm him. Thanks for emptying the dishwasher babe, you know how much I love it when you do that. Youre so thoughtful. Quality time for Wayne is as simple as me hanging out in the garage with him while he details our vehicles. Or hopping in the truck with him while hes running errands. Love Languages is huge in marriage, and it goes beyond a relationship with your significant other. A favorite story I like to tell about Love Languages is about my sister. I know that Acts of Service is big for her. Several years ago we were both at work together, and it was less than a week before Christmas. Work was quiet, and I had finished my must dos for the day. Lidija was stressing about getting her big Christmas grocery shop done and was working on lists, and fretting about when she would get it checked off her to do list. I offered to take care of it for her that afternoon. I told her to give me her lists, some money and the keys to her vehicle and I would take care of the rest. Well you would have thought she had won the lottery. It was a small gesture for me, but to her it meant the world. I spoke her love language. The next day, I found myself enjoying a delicious Edible Arrangement my sister had sent me to say thank you. Now, its one thing to know Love Languages, and its another to speak them into the people who mean the most in your life. I use this daily in my personal and business life.
