Day 4 of counting blessings & being grateful.......(The Dave Percy 5 Day Challenge) 1. the N.H.S & Social Services in Britain....a bit contentious this one but due to our circumstances we benefit from their services on an almost daily basis. The standard of delivery of the numerous facets of these services we utilise various from abysmal at their worst to fantastic at their best but tends to be in the mid to upper range for the most thankfully. The caliber of the people that provide the services varies from incompetent & uninterested to incredibly talented & totally committed with once again it tending to be in the mid to upper range thankfully. The fact that this is all free at the point of service is something I am very grateful for. 2. Tom had his final few hours in the Ysgol y Gogarth summer play scheme today(something in its own right to be grateful for). While he was there Alfie suggested that he, Clare & me went for a ride on the bikes so we did there & then, straight out of the door, no planning, no prompting, no special paraphernalia, no meltdowns or rituals, just filled up the water bottles, hopped on the bikes & out we went......Im starting to feel guilty & ungrateful as I type this but it was great to let Alfie choose the activity in the spur of the moment & be able to indulge him & ourselves... a real first for us! I dont expect many people to understand this but there are one or two people that may read this that it will strike a real chord with...sorry to anyone else that perceives as a little harsh or callous. 3. The Village & people of Eglwysbach.....its a beautiful part of the world to live with stunning scenery, flora & fauna & good weather most often the norm. The people are very friendly, jovial, kind, caring, generous & community focused making it a very peaceful & affable place to live.
