Day 4 of the jazz course at the Scottish Conservatoire and the day started with Tommy showing us some harmony options on the blues looking at sub dominants and extended dominants. After an hour or so of his patient explanation I would like to say the penny dropped but alas no although I will have a good go at understanding it again. We then did some work on our group tunes with Mario then after lunch we did some more combo work and looked a great tune called No Moe by Sonny Rollins, we heard an amazing version by Joe Locke. After a break we had a percussion/drums workshop with Alan Cosker which was excellent and we all played drums while Alan played teh progression. Good fun and educational as well. This is the business!
