Day 4 update... Another successful day in the books! Kennedy continues to do well and move forward. They were again able to turn down the ventilator, she is handling feedings well without any signs of stomach issues (be mindful she only gets 1 ml every 3 hours, and she continues to amaze the NICU doctors and nurses. One thing they are monitoring with Kennedy is a heart murmur which is very common in babies this size and age and hopefully will not be a huge area of concern. Tomorrow will be a huge step when they complete a head scan on Kennedy to make sure there was no brain bleed during the delivery. Right now there are no signs that would indicate this, but babies get the scan on day 5! Kevin and I completed our first premie class tonight and then found out we may get to hold Kennedy skin to skin tomorrow night and begin the kangaroo care three times per week!!!! I left that hospital tonight with high hopes this happens tomorrow. Seeing Kevin with Kennedy tonight was amazing and we both cant wait to be able to get her out for the first time. Thank you to everyone for the comments, thoughts and prayers. They are working and we read each one. Please help us continue the prayers for our sweet girl to keep up the fierce fight!
